Since September 2010, I hold a postdoctoral fellowship from the Fonds québécois de recherche sur la nature et les technologies (Fqrnt) at the Mathematics Institute of the University of Basel. Since October 2011, I am also funded bu the SNF. I work in the research group Algebra und Geometrie under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hanspeter Kraft. Previously, I was a MATCH postdoctoral fellow. I worked in the Algorithmic Algebra research group of Prof. Dr. B.H. Matzat. I did my Ph.D. in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. My supervisor was David Wehlau.
My research interests fall within invariant theory. I am particularly interested in separating invariants, but also increasingly in invariants of the additive group, in all characteristic.

(with Andreas Maurischat) On the finite generation of additive group invariants in positive characteristic, J. Algebra 324 (8) (2010) 1952-1963, also on the arxiv

Every Friday, during the semester, I attend the Seminar Algebra und Geometrie and its traditional picnic.
