Basel is easy to reach by train or by plane.
By train: Basel has two major train stations: "Basel SBB" (for trains from Switzerland, France and Italy) and
"Badischer Bahnhof" (for trains from Germany).
Take the tram nr. 8 or nr. 11 if you arrive at "Basel SBB" (resp. tram nr. 6 for "Badischer Bahnhof") until
Schifflände. From there follow the narrow street called "Rheinsprung" until you reach the old university at "Rheinsprung 9", where the syposium will take place.
.
By plane: Basel has its own airport (Basel-Mulhouse). From there take the bus nr. 50 to "Basel SBB". Alternatively, you can fly to Zurich Kloten and take the train to Basel (~1 hour). Now follow the advice above to reach the old university at Rheinsprung 9.
